I Am Looking Forward To Getting Dental Implants, But I Have a Metal Allergy |
Dental implants have a well-documented history of success. The root fixture of most dental implants is fabricated from titanium. This metal is biocompatible and therefore the jawbone integrates or bonds with the titanium root in a process called osseointegration. Titanium allergies are rare, however, some people may have them. If you are concerned about a metal allergy and are looking forward to having dental implants, you want to know what the options are.
Anyone allergic to metal is still able to get dental implants. Since the dental implant posts or rods, which serve as the root, are made of titanium-only material or titanium alloys, a mixture of titanium and other metals or compounds, there may be some that can present issues to people with allergies. So, if you are concerned about allergies, you should not allow this fear to prevent you from receiving the treatment. There are metal-free zirconia dental implants that serve as an alternative to traditional titanium implants. It is important you always take precautions in order to avoid any adverse reactions occurring from dental implants. Zirconia, as an alternative to titanium, comes with many benefits. It is inert, therefore has a low risk of causing allergic reactions. It is also strong, so it can stand the chewing force of teeth. Additionally, it does not corrode and encounters less plaque accumulation. Lastly, the white material promotes your mouth's aesthetics. There is no metal casting likely to darken the gums.

CO2 Lasers for Skin Resurfacing
|
Environmental factors, our lifestyle, and aging can all cause the formation of lines, wrinkles, and an uneven skin tone and texture on our skin and face. Smooth, even skin helps us to look youthful, healthy, and vibrant.
Fortunately, here at Mountain State Oral and Facial Surgery, through our Facial Center, we are able to help you restore a youthful appearance to your skin and face using CO2 laser skin resurfacing.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser technology removes the outer layers of damaged skin and reveals the underyling healthy skin which is softer and smoother. This resurfacing of your skin is possible through the laser's short, pulsating beams of light. We will provide you with a local anesthetic before the procedure to ensure you do not feel any discomfort.

Should You Use Mouthwash Every Day? Find Out! |
|
First, you should brush and floss your teeth and gums before using mouthwash. If you have fluoride toothpaste, don't use mouthwash immediately after brushing. Wait a few minutes, and then use your mouthwash so that you won't wash away the fluoride.
Make sure to rinse and spit out the mouthwash. You should have enough mouthwash to swish it around in the mouth. Ensure you swish and gargle the mouthwash for about 30 seconds before you spit to ensure full effect.
Use a fluoride mouthwash to help prevent tooth decay and gum disease. A mouthwash with fluoride is able to rebuild weakened enamel and slow down mineral loss in the enamel. It is also able to reverse early signs of decay and prevent the accumulation of harmful bacteria.
